The 2007 S600 Sedan
MSRP $140,675* Chassis
Front suspension Four-link air suspension, antilift control, gas shock absorbers, stabilizer, anti-dive system.
Rear suspension Multilink independent air suspension, antisquat system.
Active Body Control (ABC) ABC, an active suspension system, utilizes a coil spring and an electronically controlled hydraulic cylinder in series, plus a separate gas-pressurized shock absorber at each wheel. Using a total system pressure of up to 2,900 psi, ABC continually adjusts each wheel's suspension to counteract vibration, pitch, dive, squat and roll. ABC also provides automatic 4-wheel level control, driver-selectable ride height and automatic lowering at higher speed. View the interactive Feature Spotlight.
Steering type Power-assisted, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering.
Wheels
18" 5-spoke light-alloy, 18 x 8.5/18 x 9.5 staggered.
Tires 255/45 R18 high performance front and 275/45 R18 high performance rear.1
Brakes Dual-circuit power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. 14.2" ventilated, cross-drilled front discs and 13" ventilated, rear discs. 8-piston fixed calipers on front and 4-piston fixed calipers on rear.
Antilock Braking System (ABS) ABS senses impending wheel lockup under heavy braking and pumps the front brakes individually or the rear brakes together (to help maintain stability) as needed up to 30 times per second, to prevent lockup and maintain steering ability.
Brake Assist Plus (BAS) BAS Plus works with Distronic Plus Radar Cruise Control and adds the benefit of working with Distronic's proximity recognition capabilities. If Distronic's radar detects that the vehicle has suddenly moved too close to the vehicle ahead, Brake Assist Plus can autonomously apply the brakes (up to maximum capability) to attempt to avoid a collision.2
