First Look at VietNom Nom: Wichita’s newest Vietnamese restaurant
Officially opening up on November 20 at 11am is the newest Vietnamese restaurant at Tyler Pointe. Best described as a fast casual restaurant with one of the most clever names in town, VietNom Nom is here to quickly serve foodies some of the more popular Vietnamese dishes whether it’s on the go or those looking to dine in.
My family and friends stopped in this weekend to get a first hand look at what you can expect on your visit.

When you enter the bright and vibrant restaurant,
you’ll walk straight to the cashier and make your order. Once you pay, they give you a number and then you’re off to grab the seat of your choice. The food is then delivered to your table. It’s all a very simple process, thus the “fast casual” concept.
The menu can be found
here. For those wondering about beer, they are working on getting their license and will soon have that available as well.
For our visit, we ordered off of a limited menu and tried to sample a lit bit of everything they had to offer that evening:
- Different bowls of Pho
- Multiple different rice dishes with varying types of meat from pork, bone-in pork chop and steak
- Crispy spring rolls aka NomChucks
- Vietnamese Che
Behold…. our dinner:
My family and I were the very first group to order during the soft opening so our food delivery was extremely quick. With it being a soft opening, the staff was very attentive, friendly and running from table to table making sure everybody was taken care of. It certainly was one of the more smooth soft openings, I’ve been to in a while.
As for the food, it was all great. My brothers, cousins, friends, and kids all loved it. For the convenience, speed, and price, VietNom Nom did an excellent job of knowing their niche and executing it. All of the rice dishes were wonderful with well seasoned and flavored meat options. For a fast casual restaurant, the Pho was also flavorful and filling. Food portions weren’t extremely large but enough to satisfy anyone looking for a quick meal. And the spring rolls? The kids went thru them like candy. They are truly the chicken fingers of the Vietnamese cuisine world.
One of my gripes was I wish there was one on the east side.
There are so many Vietnamese restaurants spread out around town with the exception of the west side. What you find at VietNom Nom is different than the others you’ll find. It’s quick, easy, affordable and delicious with the focus being on quick and easy.
Owner Huyvu Nguyen wanted to focus on three things: Authenticity, Ambiance, Service. We think he did a great job and wish him and the restaurant the best of luck on their future. Definitely give them a check out next week during their opening week.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
